Around the North Yorkshire Moors & Coast

The whole North Yorks coastal area is such a scenic place to visit, both at the coast with its dramatic cliffs tumbling into the sea and its gorgeous beaches.  Then in total contrast the beautiful country villages set in the magnificent North Yorkshire Moors.

Robin Hoods Bay

Robin Hoods Bay is famous as the official finishing point for the Coast to Coast Walk.  It’s a pretty little fishing village with its quaint 17th centaury cottages set on a hillside leading down to the sea and shops from a bygone era. A place to leave the car behind and stroll through the narrow lanes with their tea shops and village pubs.

Whitby

Famous North Yorkshire fishing town with a picturesque harbour and cobbled streets leading to the Abbey in the old port.  There are many attractions here for children.

Sandsend

Another pretty seaside village with a little inlet and gorgeous beach.

Runswick Bay

Beautiful dramatic bay to walk along or take a drink in the pub overlooking the magnificent view of the bay.

Goathland

Where the famous Heartbeat TV serious is filmed.   A lovely traditional Yorkshire village in the heart of the North Yorks Mors. An original steam railway operates from here to tour the moorland.

Egton Bridge

A really pretty village down in the Dale of the North Yorks Moors and a lovely picnic spot.

Scarborough

Another much larger seaside town with lots of attractions for children.
